And we now provide this very helpful new addition to your arsenal of information: we are subscribed to a phone app called TouchStay which puts all the important information about our house, village, and region right on your phone, everything from arrival information to operating appliances to getting medical care to finding Michelin-starred restaurants, accessible at any time.
We will send you a link for putting this app on your phone once you've booked your stay with us.  You will want to keep it handy.

Required Reading:

Arrival, Parking, Settling in-- you'll want easy access to this on your computer, pad, or phone, as it contains the information you'll need after you've landed in France and are making your way to the village.  This is a PDF file (we can send you a Word file, if that's preferable):

Essential Guest Information--please glance through this before and after you arrive.  This is your 'operations manual' which has information about the house, rules, tasks, appliances, electricity, repairs, emergency numbers,  and more.
Please avoid printing this out (it's a waste of paper)-- but keep it on your computer or pad, access it through the internet at the house, or use the copy at the house.

Additional Reading:

Using the Fireplace--Here are some basic instructions (in PDF form) for getting a fire going in the fireplace.  It is an unusual fireplace, so please read the instructions carefully.
PLEASE NOTE: a chain operates the flue-- when the chain is free, the flue is open (this is the default position); pulling the chain closes the flue for fires going in the firebox. Don't pull it down beyond normal tension or the chain can break.

Advanced Bike Routes--(See under the "Adventures" tab above for many more bicycling routes and information.)

Maxime, who rents hybrid and electric bikes, just below the village, can show you any number of wonderful bicycling routes, from easy two hour adventures, to full day excursions, from flat lands along the river to hilly forests above.
For other serious bikers, Mark Clausen (an avid bicyclist and friend from Seattle who, with Ann Lokey, also owns a house in the village) has devised these beautiful routes, available here in PDF form:
